The Wind Ensemble traveled to Richmond VA on April 13th, 2018 to participate in the “Dixie Classic Music Festival”. Students performed in front of a panel of distinguished guest adjudicators from local Universities. Each concert group was given a private clinic by the composer/clinician following their performance and also were given a rating of their performance. These clinics provide an opportunity for the students and directors to meet the composers to further explore educational concepts and receive direct positive reinforcement.
There is another award for each festival that is given to the group that scores the highest on the judges rating cards, regardless of whether they are Middle School or High School. In this year’s competition there were both Middle School Bands and High School Bands performing. Holy Trinity Wind Ensemble had the Highest Scores of any group at the Festival and were awarded the Highest Honor Trophy!
We wish our talented students well in this endeavor and thank Mr. Hollar and Ms. DelVillano for their hard work and dedication in preparing our students.
